Research released today has revealed that men in the provincial capitals of Cardiff, Belfast and Edinburgh were most likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction and turn to medication to combat its effects.
We analysed more than 50,000 purchases of erectile dysfunction medication across the UK during the previous 12 months and compiled a table of the best and worst performing cities.
With up to eight per cent (NULL,600 purchases per 173,000 male population) of all men in Cardiff turning to medication to combat the effects of erectile dysfunction they were by far the worst sufferers of impotence. In contrast, just 0.11 and 016 per cent of Glaswegian and Brummie men respectively turn to Viagra and its alternatives.
However, the dubious crown of worst location in the UK for erectile dysfunction was the Scottish town of Kilmarnock, where a staggering 4,151 purchases of ED medication were made for just 23,000 male residents; a potential impotence rate of 18 per cent.
The UK's capital, London was revealed to have average rates of impotence with the northern cities of Durham and Leeds the worst offenders in England with 1.05% and 1% respectively turning to impotence medication to help them perform in the bedroom.
