Like all prescription medications, you might suffer from Xenical side effects too. If you do not want to experience serious Xenical side effects, make sure you tell your doctor if you have following conditions:
- Cholestasis
- Chronic malabsorption syndrome
- Gallbladder problems
You will have severe Xenical side effects if you have following conditions and still take it. It is not safe to take Xenical with these conditions:
- Anorexia or bulimia
- Diabetes
- History of kidney stones
- Planning pregnancy
- Pregnant or breastfeeding a child
Your body may react with some medications and you may experience xenical side effects. It is best to tell your doctor about all the medications you are taking to avoid Xenical side effects:

- Cerivastatin (Baycol)
- Cyclosporine (Sandimmune, Neoral)
- Fluvastatin (Lescol)
- Lovastatin (Mevacor)

- Warfarin (Coumadin)
- Any prescription drugs
- Any other dietary supplements, including herbal ones
What Xenical side effects should I expect?
Normally, Xenical side effects disappear if you continue treatment and keep to your recommended diet. Do not be alarmed by this list of Xenical side effects. You may not experience any of these Xenical side effects or experience just one or two. Most patients experienced only one episode of Xenical side effects. Consult with your doctor on any Xenical side effects that are of concern to you.

- Gum problems
- Headache
- Increased defecation
- Incontinence (faecal) - 7.7% of patients
- Leaky stools in some patients temporarily
- Menstrual problems
- Muscle pain
- Nausea
- Rectal discomfort or pain
- Respiratory tract infections
- Skin rash
- Sleep problems
- Stomach cramps
- Tooth problems
- Urgency to have a bowel movement
- Urinary tract infections
- Vaginal inflammation
- Vomiting
Less common side effects of xenical may include dry skin, ear/nose/throat problems, and joint disorders. Side effects of Xenical that usually occur after the first year of treatment include depression, leg pain, swollen feet, and tendonitis.
Due to the presence of undigested fat, it is natural for the bowel to change colour. It may be orange or brown. These bowel changes are a natural effect of blocking the fat from being absorbed and are not Xenical of side effects that you should worry about. Side effects of Xenical are worse with more fat. The more fat you consume, the more side effect of Xenical you suffer. Keep to your recommended diet of meals containing no more than 30% fat to avoid the side effects of Xenical.
What are the symptoms of allergy or side effects of Xenical?
A rare allergic reaction may include shortness of breath, closing of your throat, swelling of your lips/tongue/face, or hives. These are not side effect common to Xenical but are allergic reactions caused if the active ingredient of Xenical is not suitable for you.
