Biotech firm, Vivus, have just unveiled a brand new erectile dysfunction treatment, boasting the ability to work in less than 15 minutes. Producing faster results than rivals Viagra and Cialis, the brand new pill has got tongues wagging in medical circles.
"The magnitude of success in the first 15 minutes was surprising," claimed Leland Wilson, the company's CEO.
According to Wilson, the drug is currently in the latter stages of FDA approval and will be released on sale for 2012. He also believes that the data that has been collated, is an accurate indication of the fact that avanafil works differently and more effectively than any other erectile dysfunction treatment on the market to date.
While "we knew from the pharmacokinetic profile that avanafil works very quickly, this data is exciting evidence of how fast avanafil really works," he added.
Wilson also claims that surveys and discussions, conducted with patients and physicians, served to show that one of the major things people look for in an erectile dysfunction treatment, is speed of functioning. The fact avanafil works in just 15 minutes, allows for spontaneity.
Topping the market
Wilson claims that the ED drug will be available from 2012. Rival medications such as Viagra, manufactured by Pfizer, is said to work in 30 minutes to an hour, pushing Avanafil to the forefront of the market.
