Curvaceous women have the same effect on men as drugs

A photograph of a curvaceous woman can give a man the same type of high he experiences after drinking or taking drugs, researchers from an American University have discovered.

The findings could explain the occurrence of pornography addiction: a common, yet underreported affliction that can lead to impotence in the face of real life sexual encounters.

The research was conducted by Georgia Gwinett College, in Georgia, USA. It monitored men’s reactions to photographs of women, taken both before and after cosmetic surgery. It was found that, when staring at the newer, curvier model, the male brain appeared to display a ‘reward’ reaction, similar to the feeling one might get when consuming alcohol or drugs.

It has long been known that an hour glass figure is attractive to men across a wide variety of cultures. Celebrities with curvy figures like Beyonce Knowles, Scarlett Johansen and Shakira are perfect examples. This new study gives us a fresh insight into why such women are sexually attractive.

Meanwhile the chemical ‘kick’ that men get from looking at photographs of them goes some way towards explaining why a large proportion of men have issues with the compulsive viewing of pornography.

Explaining this complex modern problem, Princeton University professor of psychiatry, Jeffrey Satinover said: "the pornography addict soon forgets about everything and everyone else in favour of an ever more elusive sexual jolt. He will place at risk his career, his friends, and his family."

Once addicted to porn, some men develop distorted viewpoints about sex. Their expectations about real life sex can become unrealistic and, among other issues, this can lead to erectile dysfunction problems.

If you are worried about impotence, remember that treatments are available.
