The government has begun to stockpile thousands of cardboard coffins, in preparation of mass deaths, expected to result from the next swine flu outbreak. The latest pandemic is predicted for this autumn. Government published literature,’ Guidance on Dealing with Mass Fatalities’ was released in Scotland, to highlight the fact that Government’s would be wise not to use mass graves.

These reports have been released at a time when increasing numbers of nurses and health workers, (including those who have retired), are being called upon, to deal with the expected level of infection. To date, 889 deaths have been registered in Brazil and 200 in India. Subsuming this, 1900 Brits are expected to die as the result of the fresh outbreak.

In relation, government officials have warned hundreds of schools across the UK to close, from the onset of the new pandemic. In direct response, Microsoft has developed an online tool called Microsoft Office Live Space, for infected children.

The software giant have also launched a fresh website - microsoft.com/education/h1n1, to promote the use of the online tool to teachers, to keep the pupils in education, despite being absent from school. The programme will potentially enable teachers to run their class remotely.
