We have previously looked into the possibility of a link between impotence and heart disease and recent studies have proved to be more conclusive. A detailed review of informative data found that a notable number of impotence sufferers displayed symptoms of coronary artery disease (CAD).
The research was conducted in Edinburgh where experts are now stressing the importance for health practitioners to examine patients for heart health issues before determining which if any course of treatment is most suited to the patient.
The new findings were recorded and published in the International Journal of Clinical Practice and the research took into account over 100 separate studies on the subject. With the records they were able to determine that men who suffered with impotence often developed heart related symptoms in around two or three years and even run the risk of suffering fatal heart attacks as soon as five years.
They also found that the erectile dysfunction in men who were otherwise healthy, diabetes Type 2 cases, could well be linked with initial signs of CAD, as well inadequate blood flow and clogged arteries.
Fatal signs
Impotence has also been linked with an increase in the chance of death although the majority of these instances involved CAD.
We recommend that you consult your doctor if you are experiencing any of the symptoms associated with ED. They will be able to examine you for heart issues and determine your best course of treatment.
