Swine flu jab cripples cheerleader

A cheerleader from Virginia in the United States has suffered a severe reaction to the swine flu jab. Desiree Jennings, 25, developed a 1 in a million condition as a direct result of the H1N1 vaccine.

She has been left partially paralyzed due to crippling muscle cramps. The pretty brunette is now only able to take a few steps before the pain becomes too much, causing her to collapse. However, the fact she is able to walk backwards without any difficulty is perplexing health experts world-wide.

She has been diagnosed with a Dystonia, a neurological disease, rarely noted in subjects. Jennings had been in training as a professional cheerleader for NFL’s Washington Redskins when she fell ill with the H1N1 strain. After receiving the shot on August 23rd, she began to experience the crippling side effects. Despite the obvious worry, health practitioners have begun to urge patients that they should not be discouraged from taking the vaccine and with a new dose already in use in the UK, it is certain to cause anxieties.

This, coupled with the bad press that many of the NHS run hotlines have received in recent months is likely to cause complications.

The UK moves forward

The move has been launched right across the UK with the focus on vaccination millions of people, beginning with hospital staff and the elderly. From next week onwards, pregnant women and those with underlying conditions will be contacted by their GPs concerning the need for a jab.

In the past 7 days, there have been 53,000 reported case of swine flu, emphasizing a real need for the vaccine.
