Our Story

HealthExpress was launched in 2002 as an online clinic and ever since has allowed people to get the help and treatment they need for a range of common medical problems safely, securely and discreetly. Initially, we provided help for just three conditions: impotence, obesity and male hair loss. A lot of people were embarrassed to go to their own doctor about these conditions, so we provided them with a way in which to get help, without the embarrassment of a face-to-face consultation.

When we first launched HealthExpress, the Internet was not yet widely used and the online medical industry was not being sufficiently regulated. At the time, there were a large number of websites offering medications unsafely, and often also illegally. We realised that people needed a reputable website that they could visit to get the help they wanted for these conditions, so we began to work in partnership with specially trained doctors and registered pharmacies in order to provide our service to you.

Since then a lot has changed, with people using the Internet for more and more of their needs. As times have changed, we have strived to keep at the forefront of the online healthcare industry to provide people with a safe yet convenient way to get treatment and advice. As more people began to look online for a service that complemented the medical services available from their doctors, we began to see that people wanted more than just help for embarrassing problems. Convenience soon became a leading factor, and we began to get feedback from our patients that they wanted more of their regular treatments to be available online.

Timeline

2002 – HealthExpress.co.uk launched. 2003 –HealthExpress.co.uk became the first website to launch a comprehensive consultation service to improve the safety of patients. 2004 – The Live Chat service is launched to allow patients to get advice online, as well as by telephone.
2005 –Treatments are launched for influenza to deal with the potential risks of the 'Bird Flu'. 2006 – A new treatment is launched to help people to give up smoking, which has a better success rate than any other smoking cessation treatment.
2007 – The HealthExpress website is redesigned with a dedicated patient's area added, to make managing consultations easier for our patients. 2008 – We partnered with a leading clinic to provide products to help control migraines.
2009 – The health news section is added, to provide our patients with the latest relevant information related to their condition. 2010 – Same-day delivery in London and next-day delivery to Europe are offered on all treatments. The range of conditions we provide treatments and advice for is increased to 11.
2011 – We partnered with an online clinic for sexually transmitted infections to offer a combination of discreet home testing and treatments for a range of the most common STIs. 2012 - We launched our mobile site and an iPhone app so our patients and visitors have access to our services wherever they are.
