Dymista Nasal Spray is used to prevent and treat moderate to severe symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis). It is also used to prevent and treat the symptoms of nasal allergies caused by dust mites or pet allergies.
This nasal spray contains the antihistamine azelastine hydrochloride and anti-inflammatory steroid fluticasone propionate. Together they relieve and treat symptoms such as: nasal congestion; sneezing; nasal itching; and, eye symptoms.
You can use Dymista Nasal Spray to treat and prevent the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis and perennial allergic rhinitis.
It contains two active ingredients: fluticasone propionate (a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation) and azelastine hydrochloride (an antihistamine).
When our bodies react to an allergen such as pet fur or pollen, it produces histamine. This leads to a chain reaction, causing symptoms such as sneezing and itchy eyes.
Azelastine hydrochloride starts to provide relief from nasal symptoms within around 15 minutes of using the nasal spray. It usually takes a few days for fluticasone to accumulate and provide relief from symptoms.
There is only one dosage available for Dymista Nasal Spray.
Each gram of the spray contains 1,000mcg of azelastine hydrochloride and 365mcg of fluticasone propionate. One actuation (0.14g) contains 137mcg of azelastine hydrochloride and 50mcg of fluticasone propionate.
Dymista Nasal Spray comes in a 23ml spray bottle and is only available on prescription from your doctor.
