A few weeks ago, the HealthExpress team welcomed Dr Hilary Jones for a live Q&A about liver health. The Q&A was hosted on our blog and coincided with a month long campaign by the British Liver Trust entitled 'Love Your Liver'.
We received a number of questions on a variety of liver-related topics. In this video, Dr Hilary addresses the following question –
Q: My hands are covered in liver spots, i seem to get more every month. Have i got liver disease?
Dr Hilary: Don't you worry, your liver spots are unrelated to your liver function, and are therefore certainly not a sign of liver disease. Liver spots were once incorrectly believed to be caused by liver problems because of their colour being similar to that of jaundice...
