Back in January, we hosted a liver health Q&A with Dr Hilary Jones to coincide with the British Liver Trust's 'Love Your Liver' campaign. We had a great response from members of the public, who sent in all kinds of questions on the subject of liver health.
Following on from this event, we asked Dr Hilary to film some of his answers with us for a 'Love Your Liver' video series.
In part 3 below, Dr Hilary responds to the following question:
Q: 'I have type 2 diabetes but haven't had a test for liver disease. Should I be worried?'
Dr Hilary: having type 2 diabetes is a risk factor for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. This is a condition where fat accumulates in the liver cells and is more common in people who are overweight or obese, including those with type 2 diabetes…
