What are the best ways to keep your liver healthy? In part 6 of our liver health Q&A video series, Dr Hilary Jones addresses this question, submitted during our live liver Q&A back in January.
As the largest organ in your body, the liver performs hundreds of functions, therefore taking good care of it is essential for good health.
The liver is capable of regenerating to replace lost tissue, even if as little as 25% of the organ remains. However, prolonged alcohol misuse and other unhealthy lifestyle choices will limit the liver's ability to recover from damage, leading to serious health problems.
