Jake Gyllenhaal has done his Viagra research

Los Angeles born actor Jake Gyllenhaal has admitted that he is an expert on the impotence drug, Viagra sildenafil.

He has said that he knows the male impotence treatment's selling points backwards and forwards, but is keeping quiet as to whether he has taken any of the erection pills himself in the name of research. Speaking on the matter he has said 'Some things you have to keep to yourself'

Gyllenhaal has become an expert of the impotence drug as he has recently starred alongside Anne Hathaway in the romantic 'dramedy' 'Love and Other Drugs'. Based on Jamie Reidy's memoir 'Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman' Gyllenhaal plays the part of the early era salesman.

He told US website PopcornBiz 'I know all the chemical components and all the side effects and all the issues having to do with it and how to sell Viagra. I think that I could probably sell it very well to a doctor.'

Because of the research he has had to undertake to play the role of the randy lothario who is learning how to love, he understands how people can be curious as to how the impotence cure affects the male sexual performance.

When the first erectile dysfunction treatment was discovered, by accident Gyllennhaal was just 16 years old. Gyllenhaal has told the press 'It (Viagra) was a word that I understood. I somehow knew it was connected to Bob Dole, but I didn't really get it! So it was funny to see, particularly in doing the research, what a phenomenon it was and how probably 98% of the people using it didn't really have erectile dysfunction. Those are my percentages, so you can blame me for that, but I did a lot of research.'
