Breastfeeding mothers should not take Migraleve Pink Tablets, as paracetamol and codeine can pass into breast milk.
This medicine should only be taken for a maximum of 3 days, as codeine phosphate can be habit-forming. If you do not experience relief of your symptoms within 3 days, consult your doctor.
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
How do Migraleve Pink Tablets work?
Migraine attacks cause symptoms such as headache, nausea and vomiting and sensitivity to light and sound.
Migraleve Pink Tablets contain three active ingredients. Buclizine hydrochloride stops the brain's nerve centre receiving messages that cause nausea and vomiting, providing relief from these symptoms.
Paracetamol reduces the production of prostaglandins in the brain, providing pain relief. Prostaglandins are responsible for sensitising nerve endings and causing pain.
Codeine is an opioid which mimics the action of endorphins, chemicals produced by our brains which reduce pain. Migraleve Pink Tablets contain 8mg of codeine phosphate, which works in conjunction with the paracetamol to provide relief from mild migraine headaches.
Because this medicine contains opioids, it should not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to them or to any of the other ingredients. If you experience an allergic reaction, stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately.
