How do Rizatriptan 10mg Orodispersible Tablets work?
Although it's unclear what causes migraines, they are thought to occur when blood vessels in the brain widen.
This causes symptoms such as an intense, throbbing headache, sensitivity to light and sound, and nausea or vomiting.
Rizatriptan 10mg Orodispersible Tablets contain rizatriptan benzoate. This ingredient belongs to a group of medicines called 5-HT receptor agonists (or serotonin receptor agonists).
The tablets work on the serotonin receptors in the brain to narrow blood vessels, providing relief from the symptoms of migraine attacks within 30 minutes.
If you do not experience relief from symptoms after taking one of these tablets, do not take another as it's unlikely that a second tablet will work on your symptoms.
