What is Champix?

Champix is one of the latest and most effective treatments to help you stop smoking. In clinical studies, Champix was shown to be more effective than any other form of treatment, with people being twice as likely to give up using Champix than with no help at all. Although the standard treatment of Champix lasts 12 weeks, you will actually stop smoking within the first two weeks.

Champix is the only treatments of its kind, working in two ways to help you give up smoking. How do I take Champix?

Champix comes packaged with the correct dosages labelled for each day of the treatment, so it's really easy to know which tablet to take. The initial dose is one 0.5mg Champix tablet per day, which then increases to two 0.5mg tablets per day. You should then give up smoking in the second week of the treatment, taking two 1mg tablets per day up until the end of the treatment. Champix should be taken at about the same time every day with water - this can be either with or without food.

The total length of the treatment is 12 weeks – after which you may continue for longer if Champix has helped you.
