Very fast reliable service & delivery, would prefer a more private packaging without health express details on it.
Emma B , 31 May
Reliable delivery but lack of communication. Even though an email came through to send that the order had been received and how to store the medication no confirmation comes through to say that the order has been approved. Apart from that im very happy with the service.

Elleste Solo is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in the form of a daily tablet that relieves symptoms associated with menopause, such as night sweats, hot flushes, and insomnia. It also helps maintain bone density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. It contains estradiol hemihydrate, an oestrogen that is identical to the one your body naturally produces.
Elleste Solo is an oestrogen-only tablet, meaning it does not contain progesterone. This makes it suitable only if you have had a hysterectomy (a surgery removing the womb). It is available from HealthExpress in 1 mg & 2 mg tablets.
Elleste Solo works by replacing oestrogen your body stops producing during menopause. It does this through its active ingredient, estradiol hemihydrate, which binds to oestrogen receptors to increase hormone levels in the body. With oestrogen levels restored, Elleste Solo eases menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings, and insomnia, helping women manage menopause more comfortably.
Yes, the active ingredient in Elleste Solo, estradiol hemihydrate, is bioidentical, meaning it is chemically and biologically the same as oestrogen naturally produced by the body. Although it is processed in a laboratory, your body recognises and uses it in the same way as natural oestrogen.
Take 1 tablet every day with a glass of water. You can take Elleste Solo at any time of day, just make sure you take every tablet at around the same time to ensure a steady supply of oestrogen.
Each strip of tablets will have arrows to let you know which one to take next. Continue taking tablets every day until the strip is finished, and then start your next one without a break.
Your doctor will let you know how long you should take this treatment for, and you should be prescribed the lowest effective dose to minimise the risk of side effects.
When you start taking Elleste Solo depends on whether or not you still have menstrual periods:
If you are switching from another oral HRT, start taking Elleste Solo once you finish the one you are currently taking. If switching from another type of HRT (e.g. patches), speak with your doctor about how to switch safely and effectively, as advice depends on what you’re switching from.
Elleste Solo works instantly to replenish oestrogen levels in the body, but it can take up to 3 weeks before you start to notice the effects. It usually takes around 3 months to feel the full effect of oestrogen-only HRTs like Elleste Solo.
Some women notice changes in weight while taking Elleste Solo, but it isn’t clear whether this is a result of Elleste Solo directly or of menopause itself. Lower oestrogen levels as a result of menopause have been linked to weight gain due to factors like reduced activity levels, overeating, and changes to metabolism. If this is the case for you, then taking Elleste Solo may help with weight changes by restoring oestrogen levels.
Only women over the age of 18 who have had a hysterectomy (an operation removing the womb) can be prescribed Elleste Solo from HealthExpress. If you still have a womb, you will likely be prescribed Elleste Duet instead, which contains progesterone as well as oestrogen. Progesterone is needed if you have a womb since it helps to protect the womb lining from thickening, which can increase the risk of endometrial hyperplasia and womb cancer.
Do not take Elleste Solo if you have:
Make sure you tell your doctor about any health issues you have and all medicines you take in your consultation so they can ensure safety when prescribing treatment.
Elleste Solo can cause side effects, but not everyone will get them. Tell your doctor if you experience any side effects as a result of taking this medicine.
The most common Elleste Solo side effects include:
This is not an exhaustive list. For a full list of Elleste Solo’s side effects, consult the patient information leaflet.
Elleste Solo is safe provided you are prescribed treatment from a licensed healthcare provider like HealthExpress. Elleste Solo was approved for use in the UK in 1994, meaning it has a long track record of clinical use and monitoring.
If you still have a womb, you will either be prescribed a combined HRT like Elleste Duet that contains progesterone and oestrogen, or a progestin alongside Elleste Solo.
