How does Femoston Conti work?
Femoston Conti contains two types of female hormones: oestrogen and progestogen. During the menopause, the amount of oestrogen in a woman’s body drops. This is what causes symptoms. Femoston Conti therefore supplements oestrogen levels to help treat these symptoms. The progestogen helps to protect the womb lining.
What are the benefits of Femoston Conti?
There are several benefits of using Femoston Conti. In addition to reducing the severity of menopause symptoms, it also offers several unique benefits.
- Bone health: it helps to maintain bone health, which prevents the risk of osteoporosis (a condition that causes weak bones).

Using Femoston Conti
What dose do I take?
Femoston Conti is available in two different doses.
- Femoston Conti 0.5 mg (ultra low dose): 500 mcg of estradiol / 2.5 mg of dydrogesterone
- Femoston Conti 1 mg (low dose): 1 mg of estradiol / 5 mg of dydrogesterone

When do I start Femoston Conti?
You can start taking Femoston Conti on any day if you are currently not on HRT or you are switching from another continuous combined HRT.
If you are switching from a cyclic or sequential HRT, you should start taking Femoston Conti the day after you finish 28 days of your cycle.
How do I take Femoston Conti?
You take one tablet once a day continuously. When you finish a pack, you must start the next pack immediately with no break.
Swallow each tablet whole, with or without food. Try to take each tablet at the same time each day. The blister packs are marked with the days of the week to help you remember.
What happens if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is more than 12 hours late, however, skip the missed dose and take the next tablet at the regularly scheduled time.
Safety and precautions
Who cannot use Femoston Conti?
Femoston Conti is safe for most women to relieve menopause symptoms.
Do not take Femoston Conti if you:
- are allergic to estradiol, dydrogesterone or any of the other ingredients
- have ever had breast cancer
- have a cancer which is sensitive to oestrogen, such as endometrial cancer (cancer of the womb)
- have any unexplained vaginal bleeding
- have excessive thickening of the womb lining (endometrial hyperplasia)
- have a blood-clotting disorder
- have had a heart attack, stroke or angina (conditions caused by blood clotting)
- have a liver disease
- have a blood condition called porphyria
What are the most common side effects of Femoston Conti?
Common side effects of Femoston Conti include:
- headache
- stomach pain
- back pain
- tender or painful breasts
- vaginal thrush (a fungal infection)
- feeling anxious, depressed or nervous
- feeling sick or vomiting
- Irregular, light, heavy or painful periods
- weight gain
- swelling of the ankles, feet or fingers
- vaginal discharge
