Zumenon is an alternative to Elleste Solo as it has the same active ingredients in the same dosage.
More information about Zumenon
Zumenon is a hormone replacement therapy(HRT). It is prescribed to women who are suffering from unpleasant symptoms of menopause and who have gone at least six months since their last natural period.
Zumenon is an oestrogen-only HRT and is usually prescribed to those who do not have a uterus. If you have not had a hysterectomy, your doctor should also have prescribed you a progestogen treatment to take alongside it.
This treatment is commonly prescribed as an alternative to Elleste Solo - both medications contain identical ingredients and work in the exact same way.
Please note, this treatment is not a contraceptive.
Menopause is the result of your ovaries producing less and less oestrogen. It is a natural phase of a woman’s life, however, as oestrogen is responsible for a number of important bodily functions, changing levels can lead to certain symptoms.
These include:
If you suffer from many of these and they impact your daily life, you will be prescribed HRT.
Zumenon, as with all HRT treatments, contains the active ingredient estradiol - a synthetic form of oestrogen. Estradiol ‘replaces’ the lost oestrogen in your body, alleviating symptoms.
Before you can buy Zumenon online, you should have been prescribed by your regular GP. They should also monitor your progress on the treatment to ensure there are no adverse reactions. If you have not had a hysterectomy, they should also prescribe a progestogen treatment (to guard against an increased risk of endometrial cancer).
Zumenon is available in 1mg and 2mg doses from HealthExpress. Your doctor will have already prescribed you the correct dose. Generally, they will start you on the 1mg and look to increase to 2mg if there is little effect.
Always follow your doctor’s instructions and what is detailed in the patient information leaflet (PIL).
If you are still having periods, you should start this treatment on the first day of bleeding. If you are not, you can start it on any convenient day.
If you have also been prescribed a synthetic progestogen, you should take this for 12 to 14 days while using Zumenon.
If you are taking this HRT as part of a ‘cyclic’ treatment plan, you should start the day immediately after your oestrogen-progestogen phase finishes.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember (unless it is very close to your next dose). Do not take a double dose.
Please note, if you take too much or too little Zumenon (due to a double dose or a missed dose), you should expect a small amount of bleeding and spotting. This is not a cause for concern - however, you should seek immediate medical attention if this is long-lasting.
Hormones control all aspects of your body. As Zumenon is an oestrogen-only hormonal treatment, a variety of side effects are possible. However, not everyone will experience them.
The most common, affecting around 1 in 10 users, include:
If you experience any of these, you should report them to your doctor - they may advise you stop treatment.
For a complete list of side effects, including those that are uncommon and rare, please consult the patient information leaflet (PIL). The PIL can be found at the bottom of this page and is included with your order.
Not everyone is eligible to take HRT. Certain medical conditions and the use of some medications can increase the risk of complications. These include anyone with:
If any of the above apply to you, please contact your doctor - they will be able to propose alternative treatment.
There is evidence to suggest that oestrogen-only and oestrogen-progestogen treatments can increase the chance of patients developing certain cancers. These include ovarian and breast cancer.
The likelihood of developing cancer is exceptionally low, however, it is good practice to regularly examine your breasts for any abnormalities. You should report any changes to your doctor immediately.
There is also a slightly increased risk of blood clots when using HRT. If you experience any pain or unusual sensations in your limbs, breathless, or any unexplained chest pain, seek immediate medical attention.
You should also inform your doctor if you are taking any medications for:
You can buy Zumenon online from HealthExpress. As with all HRT, you must first have been prescribed by your GP. If this is the case, all we ask is that you complete a private consultation. This is to allow our doctors to review your medical history and confirm the treatment is safe for you.
All orders come with next-day delivery included. We pride ourselves on a speedy process and there is no delay between doctor-approval and the dispatch of treatment.
If there are any issues with your consultation, you will be contacted via phone or email. If your order is refused on medical grounds, an explanation will be given and you should expect a full refund.
